Description

This trail follows mostly unsanctioned mountain bike tracks through local bushland, a few short quiet road sections, and Slippery Dip trail (an aboriginal land council area).

The first section through the fireline is a nice introduction to the bushland. The winding tracks at the valley bottom become lush as you follow the creek through a densely canopied undulating section. It’s safe for off lead through here (watch out for the local friendly mountain bikers). But it’s back on lead for the road sections for the next kilometre or so.

Finding the trail entry point on Kellys Way is a little hard due to overgrown bushes, but once on it you find a drier bushland until you ascend to the upper plateau and meet Slippery Dip. This access road does have a bit of tourist traffic visiting the aboriginal sites along the road, so on-leash is advised. Once you find the short section of trail downhill (starting at the rock plateau where the picture below was taken) you can enjoy a short off-leash section again until you hit Kellys Way again and double back to the start.
